Text editing box

Is there a setting / or wish that when editing text, it just appears in place without jumping around? At the moment when I double click into a text box the format looks entirely different to when I exit

Secondly, if I have a very large text box and I double click into it, it fills up my whole screen and I cannot exit it without pressing escape and thereby losing my changes. Am I missing something? EDIT: Just discovered by hitting ctrl + enter it exits the text box and saves my changes

Awesome! I've been frustrated with that issue for years. The text box feature definitely appears to be a hold-over in the way it's supposed to be used. This may mean it's only a limitation for Windows users vs. Mac users though.
