User Interface Adjustable Font Size

I think there should be a way to make the font bigger in the Archicad interface.

On Windows Vista and 7 machines I believe you can adjust the system text size, but there is a bug that makes the tooltips not display properly.

Perhaps it would be better if there was a solution built-in to ArchiCAD that would work regardless of the operating system?

Here is how to do it in Windows:

There may be an equivalent way of doing it on Mac.

Oh. Thanks.
I just notice it is in the archive.
I don't know why.
Maybe it is because GS does not recommend messing with the Registry Editor.

Based on my personal experience, I never had problems modifying these values. Here is what it says:
  • 1. Quit ArchiCAD.

    2. Open the Registry Editor by typing 'regedit' in the Run... dialog (Start/Run...) and hitting 'Enter'.

    3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Graphisoft\ArchiCAD\ArchiCAD 8.1.0 INT R2\Font Description
Be sure to choose the ArchiCAD version you are currently using!

    4. Here double-click the 'Extra Small Dialog Font Size' value and change it to e.g. 14 or 15 from 12 (see screenshot for steps to follow).

    5. Then click on 'OK', and quit the Registry Editor.

    6. Restart ArchiCAD - no need to put on those glasses )
But of course people should try this at the own risk and back up their Registry before doing this.
The article is about 8.1 but should work the same in the latest version.

this works fairly well, and it's very simple to adjust to suit, the only problem (aside from it not appearing in the options menu as it would in any other software), large or tall text can overlap in small dialog boxes or become obscured by icon graphics, so there needs to be some level of adjustment for those aspects as well.

Yes, of course, but see, this is not a Graphisoft-endorsed solution.
These are just settings one can experiment with at his own risk.

er... isn't the point of this forum a Wish List for future updates from Graphisoft ?
in that context, as much as this registry hack has merit, I would think that they should implement this feature as part of Archicad's mess of options (which is presently less navigable than the windows registry IMHO).
