Could you explain the problem more please?

We already have automatic zones that can be updated to adjust to the zone boundaries at the push of a button.
Or we have manual zone boundaries that can be adjusted with moveable hotspots just like adjusting any polygon shape (slab, fill, etc.).

Ahh, I see what you want.
This has been wished for before.
The problem is a zone does not have to be a rectangular shape.
It could be any shape.
Even if it was rectangular it could be horizontal, vertical or at any angle of rotation.

I have an object I place with moveable hotspots I can stretch to where I want.
I guess if somebody wanted to they could script some hotspots into a zone stamp to save having to use a separate object like I do.

Yes, if I can get coordinates of nodes , I think it is feasible.

So someone has created an add-on that does almost what you want - but you want the zone 'Z' height to be included?

If that is the case you will need to contact the creator of that add-on.
