selecting points to dimension

Have a hard time selecting center points for door/window to dimension. Can AC be attracted to those points. Like a magnet, so to speak. Am using 1 pixel snap as recommended by AC but it's too fine.

According to me pixel snap of 1 point is too small and requires unnecessary zoomig. I use 7 poins on a 1920/1600 display.

Finding the middle point of doors and windows sucks because in the dmaker and wmaker the endpoint of the middle line is ofset some distance away.

From the ArchiCAD Help files:
Cursor Snap Range can be set between 1 and 9 pixels. 3-4 pixels is a comfortable setting, but at small zoom levels you may hit hotspots that you did not wish to snap to. If you have good pointing skills, use 1 pixel and you will not be forced to zoom in.

Mine is set to 5 on my laptop's 1440 x 900 display.
