Double click to delete nodes would speed up editing.

That would be nice. For now, you can delete a node by clicking and dragging it to nearby node.

More versatile would be a new pet palette option for "Straighten". Select option, click on second node and it would remove all nodes inbetween.

At the moment, I often end up using the Add to Polygon option to create a single new external node that encompasses a number of others inoder to only have one node to delete...

Yes there are many improvements that could be done concerning general editing. I like your "straighten" command :).

The method you suggest with Add-to is good for closed polygons (fill, slab, mesh etc) but not for lines.

I use Add to Polygon a lot with terrain meshes where I have detailed iso curves and want to flatten out areas for construction.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your idea!

This would be a great addition to Archicad so I made an entry under WISH-13202. I hope it will get implemented soon!
