Handling thick pens and line junctions

Matthew Johnson
Advocate

Archicad only has one method of handling line ends and junctions when it comes to true line weights. Rounded ends and rounded corners. This replicates the old hand drawn method of pen drawing, but has anyone else had thoughts to handling ends and corners differently.

The below image is created in PowerPoint with their 9 different combinations of handling line caps and joins. The current Archicad method is in orange, other options in blue.

Personally I'd prefer the bottom left of square ends and miter joins.

I'd love to hear the community's opinions on their preferences.

I'd rather be sailing.

I would rather the very last option with square ends.

But with the option of left, centre and right justification - the same as reference line position for walls.

That way we can control how common edges interact.

No more fill perimeters eating into an adjacent fill.
