One of the most common scenarios is where the start of the stair reaches beyond the edge of the slab hole, see image below. That part of the stair should either be completely hidden or use hidden lines (depending what the user set in floor plan display).
Other structures which stairs should interact with: roofs, meshes, shells, walls, beams, etc. depending on their location relative to the stair and floor plan cut plane.
