Calculation and Beam/Column Intersections

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi, I've been using Archicad for less than a year and I'm trying to make the most of its Calculation capabilities. I was just wondering if the Beam vs Column priority intersection has any effect on how it calculates their individual volumes?

Say if I have a column with a higher priority and I have a beam that intersects it, will it deduct that intersection from the beam?

Is there a way to do that so as to make the calculations more accurate?

Thanks and any insights into this will be much appreciated.

I am pretty sure it does but try it yourself to find out.
Run the calcs and get the volumes.
Change the priorities and run the calcs again.
Did you get the same result or different?
That will be your answer.
