Dynamic dwg modification?

Hello everyone:

I think i once saw a friend of mine linking a .DWG file to archicad in a way that if the .DWG was modified in Autocad, Archicad refreshed the changes made (and i think he had the file open in autocad at the same time).

Is there a way or was just my hallucination.

Thanks!.

In AutoCad it's called Xref and in ArchiCAD it's called Xref as well.

Info at: Attach Xref and Xref manager

You can't reload the dwg when it's open in AutoCad.

Or you can simply place the DWG file with the Drawing Tool. This is my preferred method because it will not contaminate your ARCHICAD file with all the layers, line types and fill types existing within the DWG file.
The Drawing can also be set to auto-update when the source DWG file on your hard driver changes.
