Saving to 24 from Archicad 25

Hello!

I'm currently having an issue, I use Archicad 25 to work but my classmates only have Archicad 24 available atm, since Arch25 has the option to save the file as a Arch24 project I thought it wouldn't be a problem, but even though I save it in the earlier version they haven't been able to open it and the Bug Reporter pops up inmediatly, is there a way to solve this?

I have not had an issue doing this.

I wonder if it is library related.

Before you save back as 24, change all 25 libraries for their 24 equivalent, and then 'save as' an Archicad 24 file.

I don't know if it will make any difference but may be worth a try.

There is an option when you save as a 24 file to do this automatically but that will probably only work with the default Graphisoft library.

Also try with a new 25 template with just a few simple walls.

Save that back as 24 and see if others can open it.

If that works fine then there is something in you project that 24 just doesn't like.

What that is I don't know.

You would have to submit the bug report and follow up with you local Archicad support people quoting that bug number so they can investigate.

could u solve the problem?? i'm having the same one and don't know what to do. already tried the libraries

I am not sure what else there is that you can do.

FILE menu > Save As and change the file type to version 24 PLN, and swap the libraries.

I have done this quite a few times with no problems.

What type of Archicad license do you have?

Trial, educational or full commercial?

it's a educational license!

is there a way to attach the AR24 library inside my AR25 and model with it?

what happens: i put the walls, windows and a few other elements like openings and annotation details. i dont have any object i have to export but these walls and attached elements. when i save the libraries and save as AR24, it looks like its working, and when i try to open it, the app crashes.

Educational license should be fine.

I can't confirm though as I don't have one.

I know trial licenses can only be opened on the machine that creates them, but I am not sure what happens when you back-save with a trial license.

I am not familiar with what an "AR" library is.

The default library (for me) is "Archicad Library 25".

Anyway, libraries shouldn't really have any effect.

Worse comes to worst, you will just have objects missing.

But yes, you can load the 24 library in 25 and use that.

Why the file crashes when you back-save it and open in 24, I have no idea.

As I say, I have done this many times with no problems.

Maybe it is an issue with the educational license.

All I can suggest is getting in touch with your local support.

They should help students.

This link should tell you who you local support is ... https://graphisoft.com/contact-us/get-in-touch
