Let's suffice to say it's a promotional campaign by Autodesk, but it's quite funny... if you have a soundcard.

Well somehow I was sure from my first click that she was going to recommend Revit. What a surprise!!!
Do they only attend to male engineers? Maybe they should also create Bob (for ladies)
Anyway , feels like you are talking about CAD with The Stepford Wives.

I had a chat with her, she recommended Revit to me as well.

Of course for ArchiCAD users being able to click a wall to insert a door and 'hey you have a door and a hole in the wall too' isn't that impressive, nor finding that moving a window in plan moves it in 3D.

However the option management side of Revit is something that Graphisoft need to look at seriously. I have had a go with a beta of Graphipsoft's Option Manager, but although it showed a lot of promise it struggled with large options. It's also not really promoted by Graphisoft and is only available in the USA for PCs and aimed at housebuilders.

I think this should be a major feature for ArchiCAD 11, options are a part of every project.

Well as for their advertising policy I can't say much...
they are good at it.
Just yesterday morning I received an advertising envelope with a
Working demo version of Revit 8.1 and a "getting started" handbook.
That is aggressive advertisement IMHO!

Plenty to learn there then for Graphisoft!

After all I guess most people like a demo they can play with not just a sales pitch. I suspect one reason why Sketchup has done so well is that you can download a working demo instantly.

Diana promised to send me a CD too, not bad going as I only gave her my email address.

I'll tell you, when we bought Archicad, the dealer did the best thing he possibly could. He knew we were going to buy 25 licenses over a couple years, so he loaned us two keys for a week. The IT Director and I tested Archicad against Revit, Vectorworks, ADT, and Microstation demos.

We avoided him long enough to keep them for two weeks, then presented him with a purchase order for $24,000 for the first batch of licenses... the dealer never presented to a single partner or gave a single demo... it was all based off being able to demo it for ourselves.

I tried 4 times with different info and she always recomended Revit.

Can anyone get her to recomend the ADT ?

You probably have to buy her a few drinks first.

I said I was working on paper, had a large office, did need to exchange files and came from Africa. And I tried to avoid the BIM subject.

And yes... ADT would solve my problems.

So Diana is not completely Revit-minded...

If you tell her that you currently use a highly-customized ADT, she will recommend you stick with ADT.

If you tell her you like doing things the "old fashioned way" she'll recommend ArchiCAD.....J/K!!!!
