Is it possible to create a interactive schedule that would include the objects placed on worksheets or does it have to be on a story>?

Yes, unfortunately, only elements placed on the Floor Plan will be included in Schedules. So nothing added to Sections, Elevations, Worksheets, Details etc. or any of these generated types Viewpoints.

As a work around create a "fake/dummy" story called "Schedules" and place a copy of the object there.
