sketch-up to archicad 11

I am trying to get a model out of sketch up to be able to work on it in archicad 11 on a mac. I exported it as a dwg, a dxf, and tried to import it as a gdl from a cds export. the best i've gotten is a series of poly-lines only 2-d i think.

You need to open the DWG or DXF file as object to have 3D information arrive into ArchiCAD.
File\Libraries and Objects\Open Object menu item.
Check the Help files for further information.
