Dear All,

Today we made available ARCHICAD 21 Update Build 5002, tested for the AUS, INT, UKI and USA language versions. This is a Preview version of our second Update for ARCHICAD 21, that includes a couple of new features as well as bug fixes.

New features:
PDF Reviewer Tool connection (Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam etc.)
With this solution, we provide a complete, bi-directional workflow between ARCHICAD and any standard PDF reviewer tool, such as Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam. The solution improves communication and collaboration among architects, engineers and other project stakeholders during PDF-based project management. Bi-directional means that all the markups created in the PDF editor can be imported back to ARCHICAD, where they are transformed into Markup entries which appear in the correct location, helping the user to understand and solve the issue.

Link Rhino (.3dm)
We have further improved collaboration between ARCHICAD and Rhinoceros – a popular free-form modelling tool – by adding new import options. The user can link Rhino source files (.3dm) into ARCHICAD, and update, relink etc. in the usual way, similarly to the Link IFC feature introduced in ARCHICAD 21.
Also, Rhino files can be imported into ARCHICAD as an Object, so the new command directly imports Rhino models into ARCHICAD’s Embedded Library as a GDL Object. This command replaces the “Rhino-GDL Converter” Add-On, released for ARCHICAD 18, 19 and 20.

Good to know:
This package is only compatible with the INT, USA, AUS and UKI language versions. If you attempt to install it on a different language version, you will get the following message:
Language version of this Update does not support ARCHICAD 21 found in the following folder: Applications/GRAPHISOFT/ARCHICAD 21
Click Back to browse for another location.

We will create a Public update – compatible with all language versions – in a few weeks time. Based on the feedbacks from this preview period the Public update might be a slightly modified version of this Preview build. If the two will differ, it will be possible to update from the Preview package to the Public one without a problem.

This package is not compatible with the Grasshopper – ARCHICAD Live Connection we published for ARCHICAD 21 Update 4022. We will create a new Grasshopper package that will be available at the time of the Public Release.

Hi All,

We have detected an issue with the BIM Server Update Preview 5000 that we would like to fix before the public release. We have removed the BIM Server install packages from our website until the fixed version is ready.

ARCHICAD 21 Update 5002 can still be downloaded and installed, and it is compatible with previous Builds of BIM Server 21.

(Starting with version 21 the Build number tolerance between ARCHICAD and BIMcloud/BIM Server is much more allowing. As a result you can update the server separately from ARCHICADs and vice versa. Projects remain tied to a specific ARCHICAD build, so make sure that all ARCHICADs are updated together.)

Hi tagada42,

Out of the known issues with macOS 10.13, this update preview fixes the following ones:
- Cosmetic glitches in ARCHICAD on macOS 10.13 High Sierra
- Contents of the 3D window freeze when switching between 3D Styles on macOS 10.13 High Sierra
- Contents of the 2D window freeze after turning the 2D Hardware Acceleration off on macOS 10.13 High ...

This issue will be fixed in the final version of this Update (to be released in a few weeks time)
- Opening the Push menu from a toolbar may crash ARCHICAD

This issue is resolved with the release of macOS 10.13.1:
- ARCHICAD Touch Bar custom functions are not working on macOS 10.13.0 High Sierra

Will the updated USA Library be issued with 5002? or will it be released before that?

Most important - now the new stairs are much more reliant on the library, all language versions of the library update are just as important as the INT one.

Or the stair library should be a separate LCF file for separate update (please don't tell me each language has it own stair library - not like doors and windows - please!).

Still waiting for the AUS version as well.

Hi guys,

We have the Library Updates as separate packages in addition to the generic (exe) updates. We'll release the Library Update for all language versions through ARCHICAD's Check for Updates feature once they pass our Quality Control.

The first beta of macOS High Sierra is releasedin July for the developers exactly for this. To prepare the programs for High Sierra and now 6 months later archicad is unusable on High Sierra.
