I am assuming the object from Sketchup is actually a 3D model?

If that is the case, then you are not seeing a 2D elevation symbol.

You are seeing a side view of the 3D model (object).

The only way to amend that is to amend the the 3D object, which is probably impossible just by editing the object script - it will be way too complicated.

However, you can convert it into a Morph.

Then you can edit the morph, hiding the triangulation lines between faces if that is your problem.

Then you can re-save the morph as an object.

It still may not be an easy or pleasant task, depending on how complicated your Sketchup object is.

Barry.
