Custom door handle

I created a custom door handle which is a thin metal push plate, the kind used on restroom doors here in the US. It's only 1/16" thick and is 8"x36". When I use it, it is sunken into the door and can't be seen in 3d because it's "in" the door. I tried making it thicker, but it just goes further into the door. I made it using the slab tool. How can I get to be on the surface of the door instead being sunken into the door?

The door panel surface is height "0". Your handle must grow positively above this.

Select your plate and look at the Info Box. The value for the bottom surface should be 0" and the top should be 1/16".

Hope that helps.

For future reference: when creating such specialized GDL objects, you may find it useful to find examples for it in the default ArchiCAD Library, open it and study how its geometry is created relative to the local origin in GDL. Then you should create your own GDL object in a similar fashion.
