I cannot select Handrail icon when I draw stairs.  Other icons turn blue when I click on them but I cannot select Handrail one when I want to draw handrail and stairs at the same time.  I would appreciate if somebody could help.

Are you running Windows 11 by chance?

Looks like the button a bit darker is actually indeed selected. GS mentioned it somewhere that with Win 11 there are some issues with how decorations are drawn, and until they do an update the selected state of a button is sadly not really well distinguishable.

You mean these ones in the stair settings (info box)?

Yes!

I am not sure what would make those buttons un-selectable.

No matter what I try, I can still select either or both of them.

Thanks, Barry.  Mine doesn't let me select the buttons somehow.  I'm not sure what the issue is.

But if you go to the railing tool, you can place a railing on its own?

Yes, I can place a railing separately after drawing stairs.

You can't select an existing stair and turn the railing on if that is what you are trying to do.

You have to select the railing input before you place the stair.

For an existing stair, make sure the railing tool is set to 'associative' and then just magic want the side of the stair, or pick the nodes of the stair where you want the railing to be.

So that's what I'm trying to do.  I want to place new stairs with the handrails, not on the existing stairs.  After clicking the stair button, I would click on those rail buttons that you shared on the first feedback, but those won't turn blue and I can only draw stairs without rails.

If it is a new stair, I can't work out what would make the railing buttons unavailable.

I even had a quick look in the help but couldn't see anything to say why they would not be available.

Does resetting the stair tool with a favourite help?
