Help me Obiwan: Change home story of section marker?

Stress Co_

The Deadline is near .... and my interior elevation markers show on every story...... I only want/need them on the 1st story. When I select: "show section markers on the HOME story" .... I realize the home story is the 2nd story (don't ask, I don't know. I thought they were created on the 1st story).

Can I change a section marker's home story?

Everything is already linked to Plotmaker and will be a hassle to copy/delete/create/paste.

Thanks
Marc

Have you tried CUT and PASTE from one story to the other, I just did it without any problems.
If it doesnot work you can try to define a new layerset for the stories that you don't want to show the symbol, redefine the viewsets and update in PM.

Eduardo:

I didn't want to do the "cut and paste" as I had too much 2D work on the sections (interior elevations).

I took your second suggestion and put my Makers on a unique layer and set my layer group to only show on the 1st story. Redefined and all is well... (I never would have thought of that). This is why I like this here fourm.

Muchas Gracias,

Marc

I just had this same problem, annoying! Another work around is (this assumes your 3d and 2d data on different layers):

1. Open up your section, turn off all 3d model data.

2. Select all of your 2d data and text, copy to clipboard

3. Create a new section on the correct level, set up view sets etc.

4. Paste 2d data over the top - check everything looks ok.

5. Delete old section marker.

6. Rename new section marker as deleted one.

seemed to work for me, hope this give another work around.

Sure that suggestion works, but it requires several minutes of judicious editing and maneuvering to accomplish what should be a simple, two-second operation. Frustrating!

All you need to do is select the interior elevation extents rather than the actual elevation line.
This way the entire elevation group is selected and you can change it to "Show on..." any storey you want.

Pretty sure the original post was using AC9.
