Help needed. Figure tool

Hi. I hope somebody can help me.

Here is the problem. I work in an architectural office and we have recently began working in archicad. We have taken on a new member of our team who uses archicad on his mac.
He has a file which i need to work on which contains scaled pdf's which he has placed using the figure tool.
He has given me the file and all pdf's which i have copied onto my pc in the hope to begin work but unfortunately all the pdf's that are placed in the file are just showing as black blobs.
From looking into this problem it seems that my figure tool will not allow me to read or place pdf files. Jpegs, png's etc are all fine but i cannot use pdf's.

Can anyone shed any light on this??

The version i am using is Archicad 12

Any help would be great

Hi,

I'm not a Mac specialist but i think your PDF's were placed with the drawing tool.
Try to relink your drawings selecting your black blobs/right click and relink, or if that's not working and you don't have too many PDF's, insert them again with the drawing tool.

Edward. Thank you for your reply. I can assure you that the pdf's were placed using the figure tool. My colleage is familiar with this tool so that is what he used. I am aware that the drawing tool does the same job so may try that in future. Unfortunately it seems that Archicad on my pc's (home&work) will not allow pdf's to be viewed or created from the figure tool. I find this strange and cannot understand why this problem occurs. I can place jpeg's no problem but not pdf's

You are all on the same build of archicad?
Do any of the other PCs have this problem?
Did you relink the pdf from your file to the source?

Try posting one of the pdfs here?
