Example:
Layout number A01.1 would become A01.1.01 for rev 01 and A01.1.02 for rev 02

Could you post 2 screenshots?
One about the Layout Settings Dialog in AC21, the other the Layout Settings Dialog in AC22?

This isn't in Subset or Layout Settings, but if you have #LayID.#RevID on your titleblock it will achieve the same thing.
Then set your Publisher up with a Custom file name: <SourceID>.<CURRENTREVISIONID> <SourceItemName>
Maybe that was set up in your AC21 template?

Thank you very much, you hit the nail on the head. I have been trying to resolve this for 6 months now. With this renumbering your previous revisions are not overwritten. Simple but impossible for me to find & I have been using Archicad since version 3.

Hi Eli, can you explain how to:
Then set your Publisher up with a Custom file name: <SourceID>.<CURRENTREVISIONID> <SourceItemName>
I'm on AC22 and can't seem to follow your instructions. Thank you!
