Native Survey Point - negative values

Gerry Leonor
Advisor

played around with AC 25 the other day, specifically with the Native Survey Point. i decided to test the function with an existing project (in AC22). & the exporting of IFC & DWG looked fine. the IFC was checked using Solibri. everything seemed to align fine (apart from a 0.5mm mis-alignment with the DWG, but it's well within the tolerances).

Although I'm unsure if I used it correctly. i couldn't find any in-depth tutorials of how to use it, so i decided to wing it. My question is: is the idea of  locating the Native Survey Point supposed to be entered in Negative Values? say if i have the corner of my site at N: 10m / E: 10m (simplified for this example), in order to use NSP, am i supposed to put in N:-10m / E: -10m?

so, negative values for Easting & Northings, but positive values for RLs & North Point?

I understand the reason why this function exists - that's so we can work with an orthogonal model & to work as close to AC origin point 0,0 as close as possible.
