I can't get my plotter to print on a large scale. I can only print on 8.5"-11"
parameters. I need help on getting my plotter to print on 24" x 36"

The HP Designjet 500 series is treated as a plotter, not a printer by the ArchiCAD built in drivers. If you choose File>Plot Setup you should be able to specify all paper sizes upto A0 metric or US size 30" x 40".

BTW it helps if you include your computer spec, ArchiCAD version and Operating system in your signature - change it in your profile.

i have not been able to get my hp DJ500 to "plot" to a 30" x 40" Oversized E1 sheet. But, if i "print" to the hpdj500 i can plot/print to the E1 oversized sheet. in the AC10 sheet size menu for plotting to the dj500, the 30"x40" E1 sheet size option is not provided. try "printing" to it.

I have a hp 500 design jet plotter, and when I first purchased it didn't come with an HPGL2 card for plotting. I bought and installed the card and plotting has been fine ever sense. If I remember the cost was about $250

We have an HP DesignJet 500 and use only the 'print' function, never the plot and things work great. No issues at all with paper sizes.

We have found that we sometimes get a similar problem.
The printer or plotter if you want can not find the correct paper size. However if we go into page setup>properties (of the printer) we can select the correct paper sizes, OK to exit both properties and page setup.

The next time we open page setup or print>page setup the full list of paper sizes are available.

This does not effect all projects and occasionally needs fixing more than once on the same project.

I'm looking at changing my office over from PC tp Mac. It also happens to coincide with my old plotter dying. I'm looking at the HP500, but am not sure it will be compatible with the new Mac.

Any thoughts?

Mac OS X is listed as being compatible, assuming this is the same model

we plot & print fine on mac platform w/ a 24" hp500 w/ jet direct card and hp gl2 card and 128 mb memory.
you may want to check out the hp t610 series. i believe they are the replacement series for the older hp500/800 s. twice the resolution,1200x2400, supposedly 3x faster, 300' paper rolls and new ink delivery technology.
