RENOVATIONS TOOL - Can walls be transparent in section/elev

Hello,

just trying out the 'new' Renovation tool in AC15.

We have worked out how to set it up so things look right in plan - from existing to development consent to construction drawings no problems.

What we haven't worked out is weather we can have the demolished walls come up as transparent in section/elevation ie just show the dashed red outline of the wall and not be a solid element blocking the view to elements beyond.

Please see attached screen shots which try to convey the question.

We have created separate Renovation Filters for sections/elevations which take the demolished walls out entirely, but we would rather see the dashed red outline of demolished elements in sections/elevations.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Mike:

You can get this effect by setting the Elements to be Demolished: Override: > Line Type: Dashed, Line Color: [pen], Material: Glass. But you also need to enable the Transparency option for Uncut Elements in the Elevation/Section settings, which may not work for you in other areas of the section/elevation.

You can place walls on a distinct layer and make the layer transparent, which will give you a wireframe representation of the walls to be demolished.
