problem with layouts + problem with arrow too

hi

i asked these 2 questions before but did not get an answer :

im using archicad 12 and when bringing a drawing onto a lay out - it stays there until i change the smallest thing in the plan. instead of updating it -
the drawing disappears completly. i can still see the frame but no drawing and need to bring it again each time

second question - since AC12 - the arrow tool has a small animation when selecting something - that created a very small but very annoying delay when trying to use it immedietly again.
i can see the "box" closing and NOT disappearing - can i do something about it ? someone here told me its a graphic thing but i checked the same version on 2 different computer and its the same

can anyone help ?

System specifications?

Putting this and your AC version(s) in your signature helps others help you better.

Regarding the Layout problem, can you check with these discussions here and here to see if they can help you

Did you updated your graphics card drivers and see if that helps in reducing the waiting time for your cursor? Is your drawing having a large pdf/jpeg or you have too many fills on your drawing, a screen shot will help.

Hope this helps.

Looks like you've added 2 gigs of RAM since you first posted the cursor delay problem 6 months ago. Clearly it isn't the lack of system memory.

I'd point fingers at the video card then but you're saying you've seen this on two different systems. Provided they have fairly different video cards, that rules out video issues.

I guess you've already tweaked to death the advanced redraw settings as suggested in the old thread?

I've experienced some issues that point fingers at the Windows 7 Aero feature. It had something to do with the way Windows 'layers' such things as cursor display in ArchiCAD.

It may be worth switching to a traditional display theme and seeing if it makes a difference next time you open ArchiCAD.

Well it's either a bug or something obvious I reckon. I'd eliminate all the obvious stuff first, starting with the drawing settings. Check the preview, frame, anchor, etc.

If it's possible to upload a zip of (part of?) the project try that too.
