The BIM Conference 2012 focuses on the need for an appropriate BIM process to meet your business needs and how that process should drive technology selection and not the other way round.
Delegates will learn about:
The Government catalyst driving the need for change.
BIM as a business process to meet that change.
Open BIM as the extension to that process that enables deployment of the technology that best suits business needs.
How the key elements of the process (Architecture, Structure, MEP) deploy Open BIM.
Open BIM in the sustainable environment.
The Contractor view.
Speakers include:
David Philp, Head of BIM Implementation at the Cabinet Office (keynote).
David Jellings, Head of SmartBIM Solutions.
Rob Jackson, BIM Manager of Bond Bryan Architects.
Ben Haldin, Managing Director of Fulcro Engineering Services.
Stuart Wardle, Associate Director of 3DS Ltd.
Paul Fletcher, Chairman of the RIBA Construction Strategy Group.
In the afternoon delegates can attend three from a choice of twelve informative workshops. Sessions include the practical implications of collaborative working, the benefits of an Open BIM workflow and PII/legal conditions.
This one day conference will take place on Tuesday, 17th April 2012 at one of the largest residential training and Conference Centres in the UK. The venue is located on the outskirts of Coventry and is easily accessible by road, rail and air.
We can now confirm that David Throssell, UK BIM Technical Manager at Skanska UK, has been added to the agenda. Skanska will show how they are implementing BIM and set out what they will require from their design team.
