We're pleased to announce a new BIMx mobile feature that many of our users have requested:
Sun positioning by date and time is available in the sun settings palette in the iOS and Android apps!
BIMx now displays sun movement on a path according to the project location and time zone – realistic shadows appear on the building and neighboring areas.
The new feature delivers these user benefits:
- Advanced presentations with real-time moving shadows. Change the sun's position with
- the time slider from morning to evening
- the date picker to demonstrate the sunlit areas between the solstices in June and December
- favorites showing different date and time sun settings – with animated transitions.
- Helps optimize the building design by visualizing daylight conditions and insolation in the building's interior and exterior. Place shading devices and adjust the orientation of the rooms to understand the exposure to sunlight better, validate the actual daylight performance in the interior, and comply with international standards.
Don't forget to correctly set the Project Location with coordinates, accurate north angle, and actual time zone. Future BIMx Web and Desktop Viewer updates will also include this new feature.
