AC 14 - Build 4044

Will there be a hot fix for 15 so we can save as 14 (4044) too ?

So build 4044 can't read files saved back from 15?
It will but 15 saves to 14 as (3006) not (4044).
I think this could be a problem in several ways. Especially with TeamWork and the BIM Server.

I can't see any way this would be a problem. Maybe I'm missing something.

So 15 is saving to build 3003? It appears (though I'd have to check) that it is saving to the earliest release version of 14. Perhaps this is to ensure compatibility with folks who haven't updated.

I don't see how Teamwork would be an issue since the PLN would have to be first opened and shared in 14 and all team members have to be on the same version and build to share a file.
So is it only the BIM Server version that needs to be the same for TeamWork sharing and not the file version being shared? I thought it was both.

Before 4044, 15 could generate files to share with 14 TeamWork projects. Now it can't if the files need to be in 4044 format.

I have no need for 15 to be able to generate files compatible with the new 14 upgrade but some might find 15 to be out dated by the 14 upgrade.

Perhaps the 14 files made with 15 are totaly compatible with 4044. I don't know.

I do know that I saved a file with 15 as a 14 .pln
I opened it with 14. I tried to grag-n-drop a fill into another 14 file(4044) and it would not do it. It said the file version was not compatible.

Perhaps I did something wrong. In any case it's not a big thing for me but I thought it might cause a problem for some who are trying to collaborate with 14 and 15.

As I understand it the BIM Server and all clients need to be on the same build number. The file is shared by the BIM server and so will be whatever build number is in use by the team. Any file that can be opened in whatever version can then be shared at which point it will presumably be updated (if necessary) to that build.

I have used (and assisted my clients with) BIM Server but so far haven't needed to explore it in any great depth so perhaps there is something I'm missing but I don't see the build number to be an issue at all.

Steve Versions of ArchiCAD files, is independent between builds, and opens on any build of same version (14.xxxx), or versions above (15.xxxx), but you can update your AC without problem.
