Archicad 17 - project won't save changes

Hey Guys

I'm troubleshooting a really weird issue with one Archicad project file.
- Hardware & Software information;
-- Archicad version 17, build 6004 64bit (fully licenced).
-- Windows 7 64bit with SP1 + all current updates
-- Workstation - HP Z230 with Q600 graphics adapter (listed as certified for Archicad). System is about 5months old.
-- nVidia driver 332.50 (checked with Archiwiki and it's supported).
-- Backup software - Shadowprotect Desktop 4.2.7.19756. Continuous Incremental Backups running hourly.

Yesterday the computer wigged out so restarted. When the project file was opened none of the last days changes were saved.

I went to the backup and mounted it, it only had yesterdays version without the changes. Checked other projects and they were ok.

Ran project repair. Made a few hours of changes - same issue, changes aren't saved.

Ran a test to troubleshoot. Opened the project with the issue, made a change, saved, closed opened - changes were saved. Ran test again, open project, made a change, ran Shadowprotect incremental backup, saved changes to project and closed - opened project - changes weren't saved.

Tested same thing on another project - no issues.

Checked event logs, no logs of bad sectors on the hard drive or other hardware issue. There is a log from yesterday that Archicad crashed....

So my question is, have I got a corrupted project here? Should I copy all objects to a new project? Or is there a compatibility issue with Archicad and VSS backup software on Windows 7?

What do you guys think?

Silly question but are you sure you are opening the PLN file and not the BPN file?

You say it works OK for other files.
What happens if you copy this file to another location on your drive?

Definitely opening the PLN file. Opened directly from the folder. Or just open using Archicad open option, or choose previously opened file from the list.

You think try another location in case the file path is too long or something?

Maybe.
You say other files are OK so I would try the bad file in a location that you know does work for another file.

Also make sure you are not using odd characters in the file name i.e. | } ] / . \ etc.

I am using _ in the file name, is that ok to use?

It should be, I prefer to use an underscore instead of a space in file names.
It is just that some of the other characters don't play nice with file names.
I try and avoid any special characters whenever possible just in case.

Ok just upgraded to Shadowprotect 5.2.0 and tested making changes to the project, running the backup then saving. This time changes are saved

Will monitor and see if the issue returns.
