Hi Guys,

I have a client looking for a laptop. Only issues is he wants to use ArchiCad on it and it not be painfully slow to render or do anything.

Can anyone give me some insight on graphics cards that work best with Archicad.

I have found a HP 8530W laptop which I think will do the trick nicely, but i just want to know if the graphics card is compatible.

Also would like to know if ArchiCad 12 is WIndows 7 640bit compatible?

I had since 2004 till just recently:
HP pavilion zv5240us
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP
512 MB Memory - I had to upgrade it to 1024 though!
15.4" WXGA High-Definition Widescreen Display

it worked quite well!
Of course if you have any highrise bldg. it will go slower, but overall the HP worked just fine!

Now I have TOSHIBA
PROC : Intel Core 2 Duo (3.0GHz)
4 GB Memory
17"

And this one is working very well!

I think the one you're describing will work very well!

I run Windows quite happily on my Macs but I assume that is not a fit for your client.

If he is planning to run in Win7 64bit then I would recommend that he upgrade to AC13. It runs very nicely. I'm looking forward to 64bit on the Mac side.

I am running AC 12 in Windows 7. It installs in the Programs (x86) folder in 32 bit mode and seems just as stable as XP Pro.

Cheers,
