PEN PLOTTER HELP

STEVE ENGLISH
Participant
I HAVE JUST UPGRADED TO ARCHICAD 9 AND PLOTMAKER 9 FORM VERSIONS 7 BUT ARE FINDING THAT THE NEW PLOTMAKER SOFTWARE WILL NOT SUPPORT MY OLD CALCOMP PACESETTER 2036 PENPLOTTER.

I HAVE TRIED COPYING THE CALCOMP FOLDER OVER FROM PLOTMAKER 7 BUT IT IS NOT WORKING.

ANY HELP ON THIS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED SINCE, ALTHOUGH WE ALOS RUN SEVERAL NEW HP DESIGN JET MACHINES THE OLD PEN PLOTTER STILL HAS ITS USES AND I WANT TO USE IT UNTIL IT EVENTUALLY "DIES!"

This is what I found in AC 9 Help at the following location:

..............
Getting Started > Installing ArchiCAD > Upgrading Earlier Versions > Plotter and Digitizer Support

Plotter and Digitizer Support
Pen plotters (or pen-plotter mode on raster plotters) are no longer supported beginning with version ArchiCAD 8.1. Users who wish to use a pen plotter should keep an earlier ArchiCAD version. ArchiCAD 9 does not support earlier Graphisoft digitizer drivers; however, manufacturers' digitizer drivers work fine in the new ArchiCAD version in mouse-mode for sketches.

When I first read this, I thought: "Pen Plotter", "Calcomp", it IS dead. All I can say is I feel your hurt but it's time to move on.
