After importing a drawing there is a immediate WARNING:
Error while launching ArchiCAD in the background.
Does anyone have an idea what's wrong?

How much RAM do you have? This is usually a sign that the system is running out of memory.
For example, I cannot use "linked" plans on my laptop with 512 RAM, but my desktop at 1.5gRAM seems ok.

As a new user of 8.1 I've got some problems with PM 3.1

I had a case (two days ago) of updating one LBK from three PLNs. The memory usage peaked at 2.5 GB on XP (the machine has only 512MB). It worked, but horribly slow, and the disk was smoking ...
This is usually the memory issue; max out the Windows (if you are on Windows) temp file to 4GB, if it is less than 2 GB (default is 750MB or so) this will not work properly.
DOn't forget: you need the memory for PlotMaker, plus the memory for the background ArchiCAD. Monitor the memory usage and you will see the peaks.

We appear to have sorted the problem by uninstalling a copy of 6.5 that was installed earlier in the week (it was mistakenly installed in the first instance).
