Saving 3ds file - numbering error

Yvonne

I'm trying to save 3ds file (objects) but I keep getting a numbering error.
How can I get around this?

How complex is the object you are trying to save?
It seems from that message there is a limit to what you can save (I don't know what it is).

You could try exporting your model in parts, then merge them back in what ever downstream program you are using. As long as that program inserts based on origin, it should all line up nicely.

Dear Yvonne,

Thank you for the question!

I would agree with other that, the object you are trying to save is too complex, probably because there are GDL objects with lots of polygons (for example furniture). You may consider replacing them with objects that have smaller number of polygons. Also GDL models that represent curved surfaces as a large number of polygon should be avoided.

Please find some tips about 3ds Max exchange here: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/knowledgebase/25540/#Exporting_3D_Studio_Files_from_ArchiCAD
