Parametric Objects

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am making some benches for a project as GDL objects, and I am trying to figure out how to make their geometry parametric. For example, there is a finger joint involved in the construction of the bench, so I'd like to be able to change the length of the finger after the object is placed, things like that. Could anybody point me in the direction of a tutorial that shows how to do this? All of the tutorials I have found until now have mostly been about the basic parameters such as materials, fills, pen types, and hotspots, but nothing about the actual geometry itself. Thanks!

The best source I have found for learning GDL is David Nicholson-Cole's GDL Cookbook 3.
It is a bit old now but still relevant in most cases.
Seems there is a free download now as it is out of print.

There is a link to a more updated version that I don't think was ever completed.
This is a web version 3.99 ...

Here is another post that may have some useful links.
