Michele,
You can control the area unit rounding in "Preferences/Calculation Units"

I didn't think of it right off hand becasue I was trying to change the zone tags and couldn't get them to change (It must be in the object). But I did end up going to the preferences
Thanks for the reply,

I have the opposite problem. I got the area to round out on the schedule with the Preferences, but can't seem to with the Zone Stamp. I'm using Zone Identifier 2, but I desperately want to modify it to fix the area as well as getting multiple lines for the room name and putting a frame around only the room number. Any ideas?

Amanda,
What does the "Area Calculation" tab indicate in the Zone Settings? Does it show any area reductions? To be honest with you, I don't have much experience with the "Zone Identifier 2" object. I use one that I've customized per my office standards and requirements. Have you tried using a different Zone Stamp object?

Otherwise, you need a custom written zone stamp object if any of the existing ones cannot cater to your needs.

Thanks for your replies.
I'd really like to customize a Zone Stamp for our office standard, but we're all new to the program and I don't know where to start. Is there an easy way to create or customize one from those included with 8.1?
Also, if I do make a custom Zone Stamp, will it mess up the Interactive Schedule that I created for finishes based on the zones?
Any direction you might have for me is greatly appreciated.

There is what appears to me to be an oversight in the design of the "Zone Stamp" subtype. The entire group of parameters titled "Listing Parameters" (and which all start with gs_list_) should IMHO be part of the subtype, but instead are hard-coded parameters in the couple of standard zone stamps that I just looked at.
What this means is that if you make your own stamp by saving a copy (or modifying a copy) of the stamp currently in use, you will get those parameters and your schedule will be fine.
If you think you'll be creating many custom zone stamps in your office, I would clean up the parameters and save a new subtype template (there is a check box for 'template' in the GDL editor window) ... and base new stamps on that template so that you would be sure to always use the same parameter set which would assure that sure your schedules would always come out correctly. [The new subtype, say "Finish Zone Stamp" would be a subtype of the GS "Zone Stamp", and so if GS adds new parameters to the "Zone Stamp" in the future, they would automatically appear in your objects.]
This is all slightly deep stuff for a firm new to ArchiCAD...so you might want to hire a consultant to help you. There are more than a few of us on this list ... but I think it would be best to find someone who can physically be in your office for this one. Your reseller?

That's very helpful.
I don't think that I'll be making a new zone stamp real soon. We're working on a pretty fast tracked project - the first one to be done completely in Archicad in our office - and after getting the zones and finish schedule set up, there were a couple of things that weren't how we wanted them.
On another topic on this boardhttp://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=1532 I downloaded a zone stamp that incorporates multi-lines of text which was one thing that was not working on our schedule, so for the time being, I think we're fine.
We do have a great consultant that we've been talking too - probably too much - that I'm sure we'll contact to get some of our other standards worked out. You all have been quite helpful though.
Thanks!
