Composite walls will only create skins (layers) in a wall that are solid in 3D (they can be a transparent building material for cavities) and these skins will appear as a fill in plan and section.
It is not possible to create the actual timber components that form the skin.
A complex profile wall will allow you to create the horizontal components, but there is no way to do the vertical components in a complex profile.
You would need a 'wall accessory' (and the wall accessory add-on) to do the vertical timbers if you want them linked to the wall.
There is a post here somewhere that has an option to do custom profiles for a wall cladding that may help - I will see if I can find it.
