Duplicating Layers - Retaining Combinations Settings

Is there anyway to duplicate a layer with all its combination settings intact.

Ie. I have a developed model where a client wishes to see some Fit out options.
ideally I would like to just take my "Des: Walls" layer and duplicate it as "Des: Walls - Fitout 1" with all its show/hide, Locks and Int. Group settings retained for all existing combinations.

Creating a new layer means I have to go through multiple Layer Combinations individually and reset those settings, and I exporting then importing a layer via the attribute manger does not work.

Perhaps there are some addon tools that automate these processes? Or can you export your layer combinations to a spreadsheet which would allow multiple edits?

Hi,

I normally do it the other way. Duplicate the layer combination that you need. On the newly created layer combination, OFF the initial option layer and ON the new option layer. Then you can have a separate view of the same plan with 2 different layer combinations. (Option 1 and Option 2).

Another solution probably is using renovation filter. There will be no need to create extra layers / combi on it.
Hope it helps.
