Extending walls using typed input

Is it somehow possible to extend e.g. a wall only typing the length you want to extend the wall?
As I see it all you can type is the total length of the wall

Coming from Autocad, so not an expert in Archicad yet 😉

There are a few posts here discussing how to do this.
Here is one ... https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=61911&p=284720&hilit=extend+tracker#p28472...

If you use imperial units there is a trick when subtracting as the minus is also a feet/inches separator.
This post should explain that ... https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=32565&p=170531&hilit=extend+imperial#p1705...

Not a perfect solution but it works

When you select the end node (corner) of your wall just hit “x”, Enter the distance and hit Enter. Just like in AutoCAD... almost.

You don’t need to start dragging in order to achieve this.
Works in “y” direction as well.

I've found that the old timer experts on this forum or even experts with YouTube tutorials often don’t use these simple baked in methods of extending walls or drawing any item at an exact or relative location by using the x, y, or d or even a shortcuts.
I still see seasoned veterans drawing a line a certain distance then dragging a wall to snap to the end of that line and then deleting the unnecessary line.
Way to much work and less accurate. I only assume they learned these bad habits from a time when Archicad didn’t have these other more efficient methods.

Because I’m an absolute rookie and actually went through the beginner and intermediate courses on Archicad’s YouTube channel I learnt these good habits...but I’m still struggling with more advanced and seemingly endless features of this software.
