LAYER (MODEL VIEW) WINDOW IS TOO SLOW

Hi, I have installed Archicad 25 INT on a new PC on Windows 11 ProX64:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900X CPU @ 3.70GHz

RAM 32.0 GB, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

GPU RTX A4000 16GB, Eizo monitor 32inch SCREEN RESOLUTION 3840X2160

When I open the Layer Manager window the operation is too slow and the blue circle is spinning for about 5-10 seconds. The stretching of the window is also problematic, the movement is not smooth, it is very slow and the circle is spinning. The movement of the whole window is OK.

The above check was done with version 5005 and also with the latest version 5010, the results are the same.

On a check with other 2 PCs this problem does not appear.

I have noticed that the more the Layers, the more slow motion-stack problem.

This is happening only with the LAYER window, all other windows work fine.

Has anybody faced with the same problem?

Takis.

Also the text writing and editing has a delay.

The problem seems to be with the screen resolution. I tried 2560X1440 which is quite good and even better 1920X1200 work just fine.

Is there any way to resolve this problem and get back to the recommended 3840X2160?

When using the higher screen resolutions, are you using screen scaling in your system settings?

Or is it still at 100%?

Hi Barry, I tried both font sizes 150% and 100% but the result was exactly the same.

It was just a hunch on my part.

It might affect how the screen appears, it shouldn't affect the speed.

I would not scale at 150%, try to keep at 100% or if you have to 200%.

Others may disagree with me.

I am not sure what would cause the layer dialogue to be slow.

Is it just this one file, or all files?

The screen appearance is perfect.

The problems are with the writing/editing delay and Layer Manager Window slow motion/delay.

In native Archicad Template the problem is slightly better but in normal project files where the Layers and Layer Combinations are much more in quantity the problem gets worst.

Also depending on the project, while on 3D if you open Layer Manager sometimes it opens like a slow motion Theater Curtain.

The 2D/3D navigation works very good.

Hi, the problem has been resolved and it is not an Archicad's problem.

My new workstation came with preinstalled "Dell Services" software which was loaded automatically by the system.

This software (2 of them were installed regarding "Services") was really "eating" the CPU memory which caused all the delays and slow motion function in Archicad.

Also all my data was transferred to Dell directly without my knowledge.

Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know.

It sounds a bit like the 'GeForce Experience' software that comes with GeForce video cards.

Needs to be switched off or un-installed.

Hi Barry,

the slow motion and delay came back again, unfortunately I have to dig deeper to find what is going on. I have found some services that are still running.
