I have now constructed the holes using beams which i've then put in a hidden layer. My thought was then to construct a glas wall that would serve as a window. However this does not work because the beam cuts a hole through the glas wall aswell.
any ideas??
There is also a minor issue of textures not showing in the 3D view. They do appear once i render tough. I've checked the open GL options for showing the texture.

Hello orrepova,
Go to the object depository (http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/object_depository.php ) and download the window object
Freeformwindow.gsm by Petri. It is a window and will make
a hole in the wall and will show glass, frame (if wanted), etc.
Peter Devlin
P.S. Be sure to follow the instructions on how to use the object.

For an OPENING into the Wall you can try this object from Olivier Dentan:
"Reveal SEO.gsm"
Decompress the .zip file to the folder off your choice. Next in ArchiCAD open Library Manager and click on "Add...." button and select the folder "Reveal SEO_OD", then click OK.
Click on "Object" icon on the Toolbox and find "Reveal SEO" into the loaded folder "Reveal SEO_OD".
