Rotating a truss that has been created parallel to a sloping roof and still making it parallel

I been following along an older Archicad modeling e guide https://issuu.com/alicjajakobek/docs/archicad_modeling_e-guide. On page 120-21 a truss i created parallel to a sloping roof and later this truss is rotated in plan 15 degrees. After it has been rotated it should still be parallel to the sloping roof. When I try to do this the beam doesn't align with the surface of the roof.

As I would expect.
The truss - as you created it - has simply bee rotated.
You will need to now stretch or adjust the length of the truss to match the width of the roof.
The end heights will remain the same - effectively changing the top angle of the truss.
