Wall End Tool - not showing

Pls refer to the screenshot.
the first wall, top, is a wall that's 1500mm high & goes through the floor cut plane.
the second wall is only 600mm high & doesn't go thru the floor cut plane.

both walls have a placed Wall End Tool (specifically, an angled Wall End Chamfer 22) at both ends, but the tool doesn't appear in the shorter wall.
Is this a glitch?
i'd hate to use overrides in the shorter wall with all white fills + Symbolic Cut just to keep the form of the wall.

can't model it as a Polygonal wall because it needs to be part of a schedule & we're using composites for wall types.

I guess you could call it a glitch.

The wall end tool is working as you will find that it is fine in 3D.
It is just as you have discovered, the wall end object is below the cut plane and therefore will not show in the plan view.

I don't think it is a GDL issue with the wall end itself, as other objects can show fine when they are below the cut plane.
I think it is something that would need to be fixed in the program itself.

The only work around I can think of is the one you have suggested (or a 2D fill/lines).

Actually, thinking about it some more, it may be a GDL issue.
The wall end objects are looking for the wall section fills so they can use them in the display of the object.
If a wall is below the cutting plane there are not fills - hence no object in plan (but it is there in 3D).
Maybe they could be modified to show an outline if no fills are detected.
This is just a hunch on my part but I don't have any time to look into it further at the moment.

Hi,

Barry is right, it is an error, that it is programmed to display the wrapping of skins in floor plan cut views, so if the wall is not cut, it is not generated in floor plan. It is not yet clear whether it is because of GDL or how the Wall-ends work from the exe side.
Reported this issue, and someone from development will look into whether this can be fixed (issue #266387).

AC25 now & can confirm that this still doesn't work.

for the wall end to appear, the wall needs to either:

  • be visibly cut by the Floor Plan Cut Plane
  • or by set as Symbolic Cut

having it visible as Outline only or be below the Cut Plane will not show the wall end.
