After updating Windows 10 to version 1809 (KB4464619), some unexpected issues can be experienced even on the Operation System level. It may happen that after a reboot, mapped network drives fail to reconnect. For further information about the issue please visit Microsoft's website. BIMcloud / BIMcloud Basic users who are using mapped network drives to store projects, libraries or BIMcloud Backups might be affected by this issue.

Possible symptoms

  • Users can't join to Teamwork projects and they also go Offline in already joined projects.
  • BIMcloud Libraries are not available neither in Solo, nor in Teamwork projects.
  • The BIMcloud Manager and the tray icon shows that the BIMcloud Server is stopped or not accessible. Restarting the Server is not possible.
  • Full BIMcloud Server or Manager Backup can't be made successfully.

Solution

  1. Stop the BIMcloud Manager and the BIMcloud Server services manually.
  2. Reconnect the network drive on the server machine. Make sure to name it with same letter as before.
  3. Restart the BIMcloud Manager and the BIMcloud Server services manually.
  4. If restarting the server is necessary on a daily basis, we recommend setting BIMcloud to start only manually.
If none of the above helped, please contact your local GRAPHISOFT support representative.
