Screen Display Issue

Has anyone else experienced the following issue? I can't seem to get a response from Graphisoft Support, even though I am an ArchiPLUS subscriber. I've had this happen on several project files. I'm running the latest Mac OS X (El Capitan v10.11.3)

There are times when I cut a building section, open it, and instead of it opening in a separate window like normal, it’s opening up on the plan views (on whichever story I open). The cut view will actually be on the floor plan, for example. And if it's a section that has notes, dimensions, etc., those don't even show up on the section view.

I've tried the "repair" option on the file, and have even reinstalled ArchiCAD. Nothing seems to work.

I'm attaching a screen shot. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The screenshot did not attach.
I would be interested in seeing it because this sound like a very strange problem.

Additionally, when I open the project file and use the "repair" feature, this is the resulting repair...

Are you sure that what you're seeing isn't a Trace Reference, with the color of reference set to 'original color'? The screenshot of your 2nd Floor shows that trace/reference is definitely active (the red slider 'grips' on all four sides).

Also, please add a Signature or mention your version of AC when you post. The screenshot with tabs tells us that you're on AC 19 ... but without the screenshot, I would have imagined you were in an older version that wasn't compatible with El Capitan. 😉

Sorry Karl...yes I am running the latest version of AC19. And definitely, it is not a trace reference. I have that turned on for another floor plan story.

As I mentioned in my previous post, the "repair" feature performed a repair and issued a subsequent System Report as noted. It references that "VBElements" on the Layout were deleted. I opened my Master title block layout templates. I noticed on two my master layouts that I had "missing" fonts, that I previously deleted from my computer. I changed those to a current font that resides in my system Font Book. I have opened the project file again, and so far (keeping fingers crossed) it seems to have resolved my issue.

The font scenario seems trivial, but perhaps that was the issue. Let me know if anyone thinks otherwise.

This could be a damaged file. When a Section appears on a Floor Plan and when ARCHICAD is deleting stuff from the file in trying to repair it, then I would say there is something wrong with the file.
I would contact your local support with this issue. I don't think we could be of much help here in this matter.

Hi All, we have contacted Michael about the issue and as it turns out the problem appeared because of a missing font on the Master Layouts. Replacing the font solved his problem. best,

That is a strange manifestation for a missing font.

Regardless, thanks Katalin for letting the community know about the resolution of the issue.
