I'm collaborating with a firm in South Florida remotely. Right now we are sending via DropBox the PLA's back and forth on the project.
We'd like to get move into a BIMServer Teamwork methodology but....not sure how to go about doing that. We tried to setup a BIMServer (AC22 with Teamworks) but to no avail. Something happened that it would not let me enter the Teamwork file the client created on his end.....it was an arduous and tedeous process only because I probably didn't know what I was doing.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Or can we just call GS Support and have them walk us thru it?

BIM Server is the old name of BIMcloud Basic. Our current products are BIMcloud Basic (available with ARCHICAD licenses) and BIMcloud (need to purchase BIMcloud User Licenses). You can compare these products here: https://www.graphisoft.com/bimcloud/overview/
I think, our free BIMcloud as a Service is a good opportunity to start with BIMcloud and ARCHICAD Teamwork. In this case, we, as GRAPHISOFT hosts the BIMcloud for you - you don't need to have expertise in network settings and no need to pay for IT equipments.
On Wednesday, we will have a free webinar, you can register here:
You can prepare yourself about the topic here: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/knowledgebase/126870/
GRAPHISOFT North America will also have a webinar about Teamwork on 16th of April:
And in the end, let me advertise our Working from Home with ARCHICAD article: https://helpcenter.graphisoft.com/knowledgebase/126774/
I hope I could help a bit, but let me know if you have further questions.
Kind regards,
Noémi

So...Noemi...if I can understand what you are saying.....do folks "NOW" using the BIMServer service on projects, will they be required to put their Teamwork files ON your Graphisoft Servers?.....for a yearly fee? If so, what is that yearly fee?
Also.....is their support (and I'm not talking the $75/20minutes support) which can assist a firm in setting up their BIMCloud or BIMServer for the office projects?
thanks for you help.

About support - I suggest to contact your local support, in this case GRAPHISOFT North America for details. They have the necessary information how migration from BIMcloud Basic to BIMcloud as a Service is supprted in your region.

My question was, is BIMServer still functional on MY office server without the need for GS’s BIMCloud service hosting?
In other words can I still have the TW file on my office server and share that instead of going thru BIMCloud service hosted by GS?

BIM Server is the old product, which we not support anymore, but instead, you can move on with BIMcloud Basic, which has exactly the same functionality. It's up to you if you wish to host your own BIMcloud Basic / BIMcloud, or choose to run our BIMcloud as a Service. Both are available - using BIMcloud as a Service just helps you to forget about managing server related IT tasks.

While I appreciate the "idea" of a company attempting to take away some of the I.T. headaches associated with a BIM teamwork type file.......I'm pretty certain most folks will want to have their project
At least thats what I've found out from working with dozens of architects over the past 40 years.
Something about feeling much more at ease having the TW file "IN" your own house in your own computer.
Besides....what if Graphisofts Server/BIMCloud server goes down? What if GS's links go down? Sure, you could say the same thing about an in-house office server or link.....but...at least you can physically GO to the office, pull all the TW files off the server and create new ones.....I think it'd be pretty cumbersome and difficult to do with BIMCloud servers in, say Hungary?
Just sayin'.

Yes, companies can set up BIMcloud Basic in their own offices, on their own local network, so no-one from outside will have access to their data.
This BIMcloud as a Service is running of Google's servers, as Noemi mentioned, so it goes down only if Google's servers go down.
Let us say they are putting their projects on BIMcloud as a Service during the 60-day free period, because that is the fastest way for them to implement it, and they also save money during that 60 days. Before the free period expires, they can just save a local copy of the whole Project, then delete the whole thing from BIMcloud, and then set up their own BIMcloud or BIMcloud Basic on their own network, reshare the Project on their own network and continue working on it.

So...the BIMCloud as a Service.....the Gorilla in the room question is....how much does it cost?
I mean, lets get down to 'brass tacs' and not beat around the bush here....and please...don't reply by telling me to go talk to my 'local' resellers cause...well, I'd be using the service from coast-to-coast here in the US.
Roughly, ballpark number, monthly costs.......what does it cost monthly for a firm to have BIMCloud As A Service setup, rolled out, and started....??? Just ballpark figures here is what I'm wanting to know.
thanks.
