This article collects the most typical issues experienced on BIMcloud as a Service. Please go through these troubleshooting steps to find a quick solution.
Check first - is your BIMcloud as a Service available from the browser?
After registration to your BIMcloud as a Service subscription, it takes 10-15 minutes to create your BIMcloud as a Service. If you experience any issues, as a first point, check if you can access the service from your browser.
Make sure to enter your address the same way as this example: https://myarchitecturalfirm.bimcloud.com
Login issues
Step 1 - Check the address
BIMcloud as a Service runs in an https environment. Neither the web interface, nor Archicad will be able to access BIMcloud as a Service if https is not written in the address.
Step 2 - Check your login credential in a case sensitive way
It is possible to create the same user in case sensitive way (e.g. briant and BrianT), or assign the same e-mail address to more than one user. In this case, user accounts can be matched with the right credentials if you use them in a case sensitive way.
Import issues
Not able to import .pln / .pla / .lcf files on BIMcloud as a Service web interface
BIMcloud as a Service's web interface does not support .pln, .pla or .lcf files, but .BIMProject or .BIMLibrary files instead.
To upload content, use Archicad's Teamwork menu.
Teamwork operation related issues
Not able to Open / Join / Share
Step 1 - Check if all necessary permissions are available for your user
To be able to Open / Join / Share projects, you must be part of these two default groups as a minimum:
- Management - Project Manager - to be able to Share
- View - Projects and libraries - to access projects and libraries on BIMcloud as a Service
If your user is not in any of these groups, please add the user to them.
Step 2 - Repair and re-share project
If you are not able to open / join / share a specific project, try to repair the .pln version of the project and re-share it to BIMcloud as a Service.
Step 3 - Try to Open / Join / Share a smaller project
It is possible that your network bandwidth is not good enough to upload / download bigger amount of data over it or you face with a temporary network issue on your side. Try to Open / Join / Share a small or empty project to BIMcloud as a Service.
Not able to create / modify elements / data
Step 1 - Check if all necessary permissions are available for your user
To be able to create or modify data in Teamwork, your user must be part of one of the default Archicad groups on BIMcloud as a Service. To access all settings and options, you must be part of the ARCHICAD - Lead Architect group.
Step 2 - Check if the element / setting / data is reserved by you
In Archicad Teamwork, users must reserve elements prior they can modify them in the project. Make sure that no other user , but you reserved the element, setting or data what you want to modify.
Not able to Send / Receive / Reserve
Step 1 - Check if all necessary permissions are available for your user
To be able to create or modify data in Teamwork, your user must be part of one of the default ARCHICAD groups on BIMcloud as a Service. To access all settings and options, you must be part of the ARCHICAD - Lead Architect group.
Step 2 - Check if all modified elements / settings / data is reserved by you
Make sure you did not modify anything which is not reserved by you. Most typically a new layer or attribute can cause such issue if you are not the owner of their settings.
Once you located the problematic data, either try to reserve it, or delete them before you Send / Receive.
Step 3 - Repair and re-share project
If you are not able to Send / Receive / Reserve in a specific project, try to repair the .pln version of the project and re-share it to BIMcloud as a Service.
