Please note that this only happens if the product was installed in a different directory other than the default (/Applications/...).
Issue
The Installer cannot install the update due to permission restrictions. When the product is installed in a different directory other than the default one (usually /Applications/GRAPHISOFT/Product_Name), the Installer does not have permission to access other directories. This due to the Enhanced Security changes implemented by Apple on macOS 10.15 Catalina.
Workaround
Please follow these steps to successfully update the product(s):
- Move the product file (e.g. BIMx Desktop Viewer) to the Trash and Empty Trash to ensure deletion.
- Install the product under the default directory (e.g. /Applications/GRAPHISOFT/BIMx Desktop Viewer)
- Run the Update Installer and follow the steps on the screen to successfully update the product.
