Are there plans for custom openings?

So one could draw a custom shape and use it as an opening?

I am aware that this is possible with solid operations, but openings has "opened up" the possibility of having different openings on seperate renovation filters. This is super handy when using renovation filters for sketch alternatives in landscaping and facade opening on building.

This was supposed to have been completed within the AC23 development by update 1. Will it arrive in AC24? Who knows. Unfortunately GS are quite skilled at leaving us with incomplete tools.

I haven't tried it, could you create a complex profile for the opening, and use a beam with relevant renovation setting that is placed on a hidden layer? You could also consider forming the profile using a Building Material with a transparent surface e.g. Air, transparent background fill for cuts and high strength value.
