Editing Vector images in ArchiCAD?

I have been trying to figure out how to get a vector image into ArchiCAD so I can edit it using ArchiCAD's editing tools. I can get an image into ArchiCAD but I can't "explode" it so that the vector shapes can be edited. Has anyone out there ever done this?

I understand that a pdf is a vecor image, but how do you explode that pdf so you can actually edit those vectors? Does it have something to do with the way you import the pdf?

A PDF is not always a vector file.
It depends on what software it was created with.

Archicad 18 now has the ability to explode a PDF and if it was based on a vector file you will get vector elements you can edit.

Simply place the PDF with the Drawing tool in your plan and then select and explode.
