layers /pen sets palette permanently visible

It would be so handy if I could show the layers palete permanently - without having to use shortcut every time. Just to click on/off one layer- like in Photoshop, 3ds max etc (even Autocad) without sending two extra commands. You could see which layers are visible instantly, without having to check in this dialog box.

Whenever I'd go to a named view or layout this palette would update automatically!

[similar palette (selector) could exist for pen sets, (even dimensioning), , whenever I use more than one I'm never sure which is currently active]

Yes, a dockable layer palette would be great, especially if it showed if you were using a Layer Combination or wanted to make changes then save or overwrite an existing combo. It wouldn't necessarily need all the layer settings (intersection priorities, locking, solid/wireframe etc) but quick easy access to turn layers on and off.

Pen sets not as important to me. They are just "set and forget".

You can use the Quick Options palette for this.

I believe layer palette permanently visible can enhance the productivity. I wish AC23 to have this function and more other productivity improvements, such as quick update layer combinations without going into layer palette every time. Remember my last command without showing window every time when doing special align.
