Ability to edit in 3d Doom mode

David Collins
Advocate
I recently realized I'm no longer thinking of the 3d fly-through mode as a novelty that was sadly missing the ability to blow up the entourage.

I now use this almost exclusively as the most natural way to navigate in 3d view. I'd like to be able to edit directly in Doom mode without having to toggle out.

It would be nice! Wonder if it could be done, though?

And I would like to have a poiter to be able to aim!

When you're in the Explore Mode, hold down F+P+S (First Person Shooter) to get your target.

As for the wish, it's easy enough to toggle if you assign a keyboard shortcut, no?

Cheers,
Link.

yep.

my method: hit 'E' for explore; move; click once to stop moving, click again to edit; hit 'E'; move; repeat as necessary. if symptoms persist consult an engineer . . .

Yes. And of course this is how I do it now. My wishes are always pretty modest.

But expanding in this a bit, it would be nice to be able to move around like this in the axonometric mode as well. How might that work in a world with no vanishing points ?

Thank you, Link!
First Person Shooter was what I needed!
As for the shortcut - it's F6 of me!

P.S. Do you know where the grenades are hidden?

This is done in the Orbit mode.

If we could map head motions to the arrow keys, and keep wasdc+space as the nav keys, we could have editing enabled - so long as none of those keys are already shortcuts - since the mouse would then be free for the cursor+ element selection
